Solution Manual for Financial and Accounting

Review
The book is divided into three parts. The first part provides an introduction to basic securities and financial market organization, the concept of interest rates, the main mathematical models, and quantitative ways to measure risks and rewards. The second part treats option pricing and hedging; here and throughout the book, the authors emphasize the Martingale or probabilistic approach. Finally, the third part examines equilibrium models -- a subject often neglected by other texts in financial mathematics, but included here because of the qualitative insight it offers into the behavior of market participants and pricing.

Solution Manual for Mechanical Engineering

Student Solutions Manual and Study Guide to accompany Fundamentals of Fluid Mechanics, 5th Edition (Paperback)
by Bruce R. Munson (Author), Donald F. Young (Author), Theodore H. Okiishi (Author)

I bought the book by mistake since I was looking for a more physical introduction to fluid mechanics. However, once I started reading, I could not stop. The book is a pleasure to read. Every concept is explained crystal clear. No single step is skipped. Almost every concept is illustrated with one or more very detailed solved examples. It is frequent in most technical books to find how the level of clarity degrades progressively as you approach the end of the book. This is not the case. Every chapter up to the very end is carefully arranged and the level is maintained.

Design and Analysis of Experiments, Student Solutions Manual (Paperback) by Douglas C. Montgomery (Author)

Doug Montgomery is an engineer with great statistical training. This enabled him to be a great teacher for statistical practitioners and an author of several excellent applied books in the design and analysis of experimental data and statistical process control. This book is one of the best sources for Design of Experiments for engineers, currently a very important topic in industry. He provides a wealth of information on classical designs and the analysis of variance models. In addition he provides a balanced perspective on the value of Taguchi designs. Other topics covered include response surface methods, evolutionary operation and mixture experiments.

Computational Techniques for Fluid Dynamics: A Solutions Manual (Scientific Computation) (Paperback) by Karkenahalli Srinivas (Author), Clive A.J. Fletcher (Author)

Review
This complementary text provides detailed solutions for the problems that appear in C.A.J. Fletcher's treatise Computational Techniques for Fluid Dynamics. The solutions are indicated in enough detail for the reader to complete any intermediate steps. Many of the problems require a computer program to be written, some of which are completely new; their listing forms part of the solution. Many problems are substantial enough to be considered mini-projects, and they should encourage the reader to explore extensions and further developments. Although targeted at instructors, the manual should be of considerable interest for mechanical engineers and fluid dynamicists.

Solution Manual for Physics

Student Solution Manual for Mathematical Methods for Physics and Engineering Third Edition (Paperback)
by K. F. Riley (Author), M. P. Hobson (Author)

Book DescriptionMathematical Methods for Physics and Engineering, Third Edition is a highly acclaimed undergraduate textbook that teaches all the mathematics for an undergraduate course in any of the physical sciences. As well as lucid descriptions of all the topics and many worked examples, it contains over 800 exercises. New stand-alone chapters give a systematic account of the 'special functions' of physical science, cover an extended range of practical applications of complex variables, and give an introduction to quantum operators. This solutions manual accompanies the third edition of Mathematical Methods for Physics and Engineering. It contains complete worked solutions to over 400 exercises in the main textbook, the odd-numbered exercises, that are provided with hints and answers. The even-numbered exercises have no hints, answers or worked solutions and are intended for unaided homework problems; full solutions are available to

I had trouble solving the problems in the text that accompanys this book. I bought this in hopes that it would help me figure out where I went wrong in the solutions of the problems of the book and was disapointed in that it lists very few solutions. I was expecting it to be like my Calculus solution manual which lists all of the odd problems. I do not like that it lists very few problems, but the ones it actually does list helps me understand the material better, they were very thorough and easy to read.

Physics, Student Solutions Manual (Paperback)
by John D. Cutnell (Author), Kenneth W. Johnson (Author)

When it comes to teaching and learning physics, most pedagogical innovations were pioneered in Cutnell and Johnson's Physics--the number one algebra-based physics text for over a decade. With each new edition of Physics, Cutnell and Johnson have strived to improve the heart of the game--problem solving. Now in their new Seventh Edition, you can expect the same spirit of innovation that has made this text so successful.

Advanced Engineering Mathematics, Student Solutions Manual and Study Guide (Paperback)

Erwin Kreyszig (Author) "If we want to solve an engineering problem (usually of a physical nature), we first have to formulate the problem as a mathematical expression in..."

Reader Prewiew
This is a comprehensive compendium on engineering mathematics which I found fascinating and enjoyable to read. This is not a book for the novice but for those with a strong background in high school Mathematics. I used an earlier edition of this book as a graduate student and it is still among the texts I use as a reference book. Among the extensive topics covered include linear algebra, ordinary and partial differential equations, Fourier series, differential forms, graph theory, oscillation matrices, quantum symmetries, complex variables, probability and statistics, vector calculus, numerical and computer methods.

While struggling with Giancoli's terrible book, I looked for a better textbook online, and found three other candidates. After buying them all and reviewing them, I returned all of them except for this one.
This is a great physics textbook for those preparing for the MCAT on their own, or for those in an algebra-based physics class. Compared to Giancoli's text, it is fantastic. Why?

  • Plenty of example problems while reading
  • Clear, concise text that truly educates you as you read.
  • Excellent diagrams and tables.

I am a graduate student in physics and I have been a teaching assistant for 3 years now at Iowa State Univesity and SUNY Stony Brook. I have taught introductory physics numerous times and I have teaching experience with this book: IT IS GREAT. It is everything that the students ever dreamed of. Every chapter has really easy to follow explanation of the fundamental theory and numerous step-by-step solved problems and examples. It also has nice boxes with general strategies for solving problems. At the end of every chapter there is an extensive collection of exercises that fit well with the material of the book.

I completed my first semester of Physical Organic chemistry using this textbook and I am pleased beyond words. The book is very well written, yet sophisticated enough to help advance new graduate students like myself to the level that our Professors understand concepts at. The problems at the end of the chapter are very useful and the answer guide (sold seperately) explains them quite well. The book is also binded very solidly. The other people in my research group keep this text on their lab bookshelfs for reference and I have no doubt that I will do the same.
